Galybin, Alexander

Prof Alex Galybin obtained his PhD from Moscow State University, is Head of Damage Mechanics Division at WIT. He has over 20 years of research experience in the areas of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids. Dr Galybin has spent more than 10 years working in different research positions at the University of Western Australia where he had a successful record with the Australian Research Council.

Prof Galybin is currently leading an EPSRC project. He has particular expertise in Boundary Value Problems including Ill-posed and Non-classical Problems of Elasticity; Singular Integral Equations; Fracture Mechanics and Mechanisms of Crack Growth; Contact mechanics; Rock mechanics; Stress Fields in the Earth's Crust and several other areas of Mechanics of Solids.
